The certification body organises all aspects of the LinquaCert quality management system on the basis of the international accreditation standard ISO/IEC 17021. The certification body guarantees impartiality in the performance of certification activities and eliminates potential conflicts of interest.
Structure and roles are documented in a process model. Functions with tasks, responsibilities and authorisations of management and certification personnel are clearly assigned.

The certification body takes centre stage
The certification body is at the centre of the structure of a company like ours that carries out certifications. It must be integrated into the organisation in a very specific position in order to guarantee the greatest possible transparency and independence. This position is located between the management and the other organisational areas.
While the company management deals with strategic and financial matters, the certification body focuses on checking certificates and audits. The management of this body should take a neutral position. The main task is quality assurance. It ensures that the processes described in ISO 17021 are adhered to.
The certification body is superior to the auditors and other units of a company in the area of management system certification. It is only accountable to the management.

The requirements of ISO 17021
ISO 17021 requires that the tasks, competences and areas of responsibility of the certification body are precisely defined and set out. We can prove at any time which authorisations are assigned to which positions and how they are integrated into the certification processes.
Each certification of a translation service provider by us follows a defined procedure that is ISO-compliant. LinquaCert's internal structure is organised according to these standards.
Our process model clearly illustrates the internal processes involved in a certification procedure. Each step is documented there, and in the procedure itself it must be proven that this process step has also been completed. This goes far beyond a checklist: at LinquaCert, we orientate ourselves on modern, international processes and structures for the assessment of management systems.
The certification of a management system and the underlying structure provides independent evidence that the organisation's management system:
- meets the specified requirements;
- is able to apply its rules and requirements consistently;
- to achieve the defined targets.
At LinquaCert, we fulfil these conditions and have set up the necessary organisational structures to meet this international standard. With the certification body, we have set up a level that not only serves quality control, but also guarantees that there are no conflicts of interest.
